The Olympic gold medallist took a group of people with anxiety and stress issues, and issued them a fearsome challenge: jump off the 10-metre platform.

Mears is no stranger to struggles. He was told he would never compete again after a deliberating illness – a diagnosis he confounded by winning the men’s synchronised 3m springboard title in Rio alongside team-mate Jack Laugher.

The event, in partnership with Bridgestone, shows that anything is possible if you put your mind to it – with 53-year-old Fiona, who struggles leaving the house and meeting new people, one of many success stories.
