The Austrian eventually claimed victory by 1.4 seconds ahead of Germany's Viktoria Rebensburg, Sweden's Jessica Lindell-Vikarby coming third for bronze.
Fenninger was dominant from the off and posted a first-run time of 1:08.98 - the only athlete to go below 1:09.00 over the course of the whole day.

The German however came storming back and was quickest on run two, clocking 1:09.88 for a combined time of 2:20.56.
Fenninger meanwhile was second-quickest on the second run with a time of 1:10.18 enough for overall victory.
Next up will be the men and pre-qualification saw Klemen Kosi quickest down with a total time of 1:56.66, Great Britain's Jack Gower second and Martin Vrablik third.
