Experience the Beaver Creek ‘Birds of Prey’ downhill like never before with Eurosport’s breathtaking 360° video available on Facebook before the official World Cup race.
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a professional skier flying through a downhill race? Now is your chance to find out.
On Friday 4 December, the Alpine Skiing World Cup arrives in Beaver Creek, USA, for the legendary ‘Birds of Prey’ downhill – live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player.
To celebrate the event, we have teamed up with Bode Miller to let you experience his point of view as he tackles the Beaver Creek course - where he has been a winner three times. This has never been done before a professional ski race.
Bode took on a training run wearing cutting edge camera equipment to create an unforgettable 360° film of a truly adrenaline-pumping sports experience.
He is not competing in the 2015/16 World Cup, and performed his run exclusively for Eurosport.
To produce the video, GoPro cameras were attached to each ski stick. The rig, attaching the GoPro to the stick, was designed and produced using a 3D Printer. The video was filmed and produced by Eurosport in collaboration with the Discovery VR (Virtual Reality) team, which has previously produced 360° videos for Eurosport.
Don’t worry if you can’t see the video – here’s what to do:
