France's Tessa Worley clinched her ninth career giant slalom World Cup win as she edged out Norway's Nina Loeseth in Killington.
Only Carole Merle has more wins representing France on ten but Worley closed the gap to just one following her first victory since injuring her knee in 2013.
Loeseth had been leading after the first run after a time of 59.47 to Worley's 59.56.
But the French skier upped the ante on her second run with a time of 59.70 to finish with a combined time of 1:59.26 – the only racer under the two minute barrier.
Loeseth was 0.8 seconds back on 2:00.06 while an impressive second run from Italy's Sofia Goggia lifted her onto the podium in third.
Switzerland's Lara Gut, who won the season's opening giant slalom in Soelden in October, was among the 13 skiers who failed to finish the first run after catching an early edge.
Worley leads the giant slalom World Cup standings on 140 points with previous leader Gut dropping down to fifth.
