It was a return to form for the 2010 Olympics giant slalom champion, who had only collected one podium finish this season before scooping his landmark gold.
His time of 1:26.16minutes was good enough to oust Italy's Christof Innerhofer by an impressive 0.82 seconds, while Vincent Kriechmayr of Austria rounded off the podium in 1:27.22.
The brand new Jeongseon slope was hosting its first World Cup event ahead of the alpine races at Pyeongchang 2018 and Janka had an instant affinity with the course.
"I took some risks, and everything worked out," said Janka, who collected his 11th World Cup gold. "The slope was really good. We had cold, nice snow. This is what I like. I think we had the perfect weather and perfect conditions."
It was also a marked improvement for both Innerhofer and Kriechmayr, as both enjoyed their first World Cup podiums of the season.
"I've been eating a lot of rice and eggs. I was feeling good," joked Innerhofer about the local cuisine. "I wasn't afraid of making mistakes on jumps. After crossing the finish line, I had a big smile."
