Last year on the Finnish course 20-year-old Kristoffersen came third, to achieve a first-ever World Cup podium spot, but earned his place on the top step of the rostrum this time around.
The Norwegian was 0.06 seconds behind Marcel Hirscher following the first run but produced a flawless second run to overhaul the Austrian and claim a second slalom World Cup victory of his career.
Kristoffersen, who picked up an Olympic slalom bronze medal in Sochi, clocked a total time of 1:50.39 minutes while Hirscher checked in at 1:50.51 minutes.
There was a titanic battle for bronze as Germany’s Felix Neureuther rose from eighth after the first run to finish third, just 0.01 seconds ahead of Norway’s Sebastian-Foss Solevaag.
After his giant slalom victory in the season opener in Soelden last month, Hirscher still leads the World Cup overall standings as Kristoffersen rises to third with German Fritz Dopfer, who came sixth in Levi, in second.
