The 21-year-old Norwegian once again highlighted what a bright future he has in alpine skiing by posting a first run over a second faster than anyone else in the field before an efficient second run saw him clock a winning time of 1:37.80 minutes.
That was 1.25 seconds faster than second-placed Marcel Hirscher, although the Austrian's performance did vault him back to the top of the overall World Cup standings by leapfrogging Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal, who no longer skis slalom events.
Austria's Marco Schwarz picked up the bronze medal in Madonna di Campiglio but after following his win at Val d'Isere ten days ago with a second triumph of the campaign – and the fifth of his career – Kristoffersen acknowledges the conditions weren't easy in Italy.
"It was so bumpy," he said. "It was breaking through a little bit on the steep part.
"I had a few close calls, just like in Val d'Isere, but that's the way it is in alpine skiing, I'd rather be on the limit.
"Now I'm skiing so good that I can stay on my skis being on the limit and it's perfect."
