Italian Dominik Paris won his maiden World Cup Super-G earlier today, fending off the Austrians to triumph on the fearsome Hahnenkamm downhill course.
The 25-year-old posted a time of 1:09.99 to beat Matthias Mayer by 0.06 seconds and Georg Streitberger by 0.34 in Kitzbuhel, and sits second in the discipline standings on 285 points.
Paris has had four podiums in all disciplines so far this season, but Friday's win was the first time he has made the top step since November 2013.
Kjetil Jansrud of Norway still tops the Super-G table on 316 points after coming in 0.78 seconds back in seventh, but overall World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria was well off the pace, finishing 2.78 off the lead.
Meanwhile last year's winner Didier Defago was less than a second back in tenth, and World Super-G champion Ted Ligety missed a gate and did not finish.
