Reichelt finished in a time of 1:15.68 to take victory by 0.11 seconds from Canada's Dustin Cook and add to compatriot Anna Fenninger's gold in the women's Super-G.
Bronze went to Adrien Theaux, 0.24 seconds behind Reichelt, although a lot of the post-race reaction was concentrated on the falls sustained by many of the field's experienced skiers.
Norway's Kjetil Jansrud, first in the World Cup Super-G standings and second overall, needed his left shoulder checked out after hitting a panel.
While there was even worse news for Olympic gold medallist and two-time overall World Cup champion Miller who was ruled out of the rest of the World Championships after tearing a tendon after a crash.
The 37-year-old, who had been on the verge of a near perfect run before clipping a gate, was required to undergo surgery on Thursday night and tweeted afterwards "Feeling lucky since things could have been way worse."
Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal made a solid comeback from his own long-term injury, grabbing himself a solid sixth-place finish.
