Ryding on a high after career-best World Cup finish

Two-time Olympian Ryding put in a solid performance in the men's slalom in Sunday's World Cup race in Val d'Isere to finish just outside the top ten in 12th.

Victory went to Henrik Kristoffersen ahead of Marcel Hirscher and Felix Neureuther and Ryding admits confidence is high after his efforts in France.

"It feels pretty cool. It was great to get back to racing on the World Cup circuit, and to finish 12th on such a demanding piste was fantastic," he said.

"I was very pleased with the way I skied and to produce things I have been working on over the summer. I've now just got to keep trying to ski well and see where that takes me."

Over in Switzerland, British Nordic team athlete Andrew Young also secured a career-best result, with ninth in the sprint freestyle final at the Davos World Cup.

While at the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Katie Ormerod landed her first ever cab 900 in competition on the way to fifth in the women's snowboard slopestyle while James Woods was fifth in the men's competition.
