Schild's record bid over as Poutiainen leads first Levi slalom run

Tanja Poutiainen of Finland was fastest on the first run in the women's World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland.

She set a time of 1:00.24 on high-quality snow to lead German Maria Hoefl-Riesch by three-tenths of a second with American Mikaela Shiffrin another two-tenths back.

Kathrin Zettel and Marlies Schild both failed to finish.

Zettel had problems with her goggles and skied out while Schild, who was looking to equal Vreni Schneider's all-time World Cup slalom record of 34 wins, straddled a gate.
