American Mikaela Shiffrin brought the curtain down on the 2015/16 World Cup season in style as she topped the slalom pile in St Moritz, although it wasn’t enough to prevent Swede Frida Hansdotter picking up the crystal globe.

Shiffrin posted the fast two runs to come home in a combined time of 1:43.96 minutes to earn her fifth slalom win of the season.
But the bragging rights for the campaign go to Hansdotter who was third in 1:46.27 en route to collecting the slalom title.

Hansdotter was never out of the top ten and this was her seventh podium finish from ten events.
Sandwiched in between in second was Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia as she was 2.03 seconds off the blistering pace set by Shiffrin.
It was a tough second run for many of the favourites as Norwegian Nina Loeseth and Nastastia Noens of France, who both sat in the top group after the first run, failed to finish the second run.
In total, seven racers ended the day with a DNF on the oddly tricky course, which started steep before settling into a longer flat portion, challenging the field.
In the World Cup slalom standings, finishing behind Hansdotter were Velez Zuzulova and Switzerland's Wendy Holdener.
