Switzerland were left toasting a job well done after taking victory in the Nation Grand Prix mixed team event at the World Cup finals in Meribel.
Made up of a six-strong team comprising of Charlotte Chable, Michelle Gisin, Wendy Holdener and male skiers Gino Caviezel, Justin Murisier and Reto Schmidiger, Switzerland were initially drawn against Germany in the quarter-finals.
They safely made it though that before victory over semi-finalists Italy moved them into the Big Final where they were to face Sweden.
The Swedes had enjoyed their own successful run to the final courtesy of wins over hosts France and Austria, but they came unstuck as fast runs from Holdener and Schmidiger ultimately won it for Switzerland.
Sweden's Mattias Hargin and Anna Swenn-Larsson did in fact record the quicker times over runs two and three but with Switzerland quicker by over half a second on both the opening and closing runs, gold was theirs.
Meanwhile, bronze went to Austria after the quartet of Eva-Maria Brem, Christoph Noesig, Carmen Thalmann and Philipp Schoerghofer edged out Italy.
