Q. May we have a look at your medal?
AP: No it's mine! I've had some hard days on the way to winning this.
Q. Was it a dream for you standing on the top of the podium receiving this medal?
AP: Of course it was. So many feelings at the same time&hellip I think I need to watch it on TV for it to sink in.
Q. In August you told us that an Olympic gold was something you have been dreaming about all your life and now you have it. Do you realise what you have done?
AP: No, not yet. It has been a hard few days. This morning I had problems with my knee but I put myself together and attacked trying not to let that disturbing me. Mentally it has been a great day, I had so much fun!
Q. Hard days but finally you have the medal you wanted, can you relax now?
AP: Yes, now I am just going to have fun in the giant slalom.
Q. What did you think before starting the second run?
AP: I was so focused and I knew that I was in the right mood like I was in Saint Anton and at the World Championships. I knew exactly what was going on, I had control of everything. I was standing at the start and there was nothing that could disturb me, I knew that the medal was mine, that I just needed to get out there and do it. Already before the second the run, I had been going through my dreams about winning an Olympic gold medal, I worked through them on the lift while going up to the start, so all I had to do was to focus on my skiing and I succeeded to do that, I was even standing at the start enjoying this precious moment.
Q. Are you proud?
AP: Yes I really am.
Anders Paerson, Anja's father
Q. Now she is going to stand on the podium, what are you thinking right now?
AP: I am completely speechless, so now I just want to watch when she gets her gold medal, I just want to enjoy that moment.

Q. Have you cried yet?
AP: Yes of course, it's a touching moment. It's a gold that is achieved and a dream come true for everybody. We have all our family and friends here, so it's just fantastic.
Former Olympic champion Pernilla Wiberg
Q. Pernilla Wiberg you were the last Swedish girl to win an Olympic gold medal before Anja took the gold tonight [Lillehammer, 1994, combined], what can you say about this?
PW: It was time that somebody took over after me and it feels so great. Anja really deserves this.
Q. Were you nervous before the second run today?
PW: Yes&hellip I mean, you saw the fog! It was incredibly foggy and the skiers that were between place 10 and 3 after the first leg almost didn't have any chance because of the thick fog. But when Anja came everything went away and she got a bit of good luck!
Q. Now she has finally got that gold medal she wanted in this Olympic Games, can we expected anything from her in the giant slalom?
PW: I think this was the best thing that could happen to her and now she can ski completely relaxed during the giant slalom and I think that she will grab another medal.
Former Swedish Olympic champion Ingmar Stenmark
Q. Ingmar Stenmark, we have now another medal for Sweden.
IS: Yes it was fantastic. Anja is a fantastic skier and this was the missing gold medal, so it's fantastic that she finally got it.
Q. How was it for you to watch the second run?
IS: I was very nervous, even more than when I was competing.
Q. You've been following Anja since she was a little girl...
IS: When she was a little girl she was already much better than anybody else. She won all the races during her whole childhood, so we saw already then that she could become a great skier.
Q. Do you keep in touch with Anja now?
IS: No, not much really. We meet once in a while, but she is a great girl.
Q. If you compare the technique she has with the technique you had, what are the main differences?
IS: Now they ski on the edges all the time because they have other skis than we had, so they can stay on the edge during the whole turn. We were forced to slide a little bit while going into the turn and then put the pressure on the edge. That is probably the biggest difference.
Q. What do you think about Kjetil Andre Aamodt? He said that you are the biggest skier ever, but what do you think about Kjetil Andre Aamodt?
IS: Yes, there was an election in a French newspaper, l'Equipe , and I put him in third place, but after his gold medal here I've changed my mind and now I would put him higher. It's fantastic that he managed to take that gold medal in SuperG, I never thought he could do that!

Q. How is for you being here at the Olympic Games?
IS: It's very nice. I meet a lot of good friends. And it is of course nice to watch the races. It was especially nice to see Anja winning the gold medal. And we'll have a party tonight!
