Weirather, of Liechtenstein, had bagged three second-place finishes since December, taking super-G silver in Lake Louise and Val d'Isere before adding a downhill medal of the same colour in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
But the 27-year-old finally got the one she had been waiting for in Colorado, setting a time of 1:11.66 to beat Ilka Stuhec by 0.35 seconds.
Stuhec, a frequent podium topper this season, edged out Federica Brignone to the silver medal, with the Italian forced to settle for bronze by just 0.01 seconds.
It came just a day after Stuhec won the downhill gold medal, and she remains second in the overall World Cup standings.
Top spot remains in the hands of the USA's Mikaela Shiffrin, while Sofia Goggia of Italy takes third.
