Holmes honoured again

Britain's double Olympic champion Kelly Holmes received another honour on Wednesday when she was voted European Athletics woman athlete of 2004 in the annual poll conducted by the governing body.

The 800 metres and 1,500 metres champion - made a dame in the New Year's Honours List - won the award after a vote by the public, the media and European member federations.

Swedish triple jumper Christian Olsson, who won gold in the Athens Olympics, was voted male athlete of the year.
