It has been a frustrating couple of years for Clarke since he finished fourth in London 2012 breaking his wrist and pulling a hamstring that scuppered hopes of consistently competing during 2013.
That torment continued into 2014 where the 24-year-old was forced to withdraw from the final of the European Championships after tweaking his hamstring in the warm up.
But two lifetime best times over 60m in recent weeks have shown that Clark is back to his best and he says he is targeting gold at this weekends British Indoor Championships to cement his return.
"If you win you get selected for the European Indoor Championships and that's my target," he said.
"Getting injured before the Euros final was crushing.
"But I did rehab and nothing else after the Europeans and came back in the winter in a great position.
"Because of the injuries I've had I don't want to give myself any aspirations but, hopefully, if I just keep going on this trajectory I will keep running well.
"It's great finally to be fit and have the opportunity to run. Its 18 months to the Olympics and to be able to start running quickly, building momentum for the World Championships this summer and Brazil next year is really important."
