Gianmarco Tamberi is STILL sporting this bizarre half-beard

We thought it was a joke. We thought it was just a bit of fun - everyone did. But no, Gianmarco Tamberi still has his very unusual half-beard.
The Italian high-jumper has worn half a beard since 2011 and he seemingly has no intention of ever shaving it off.
Why? "It has become my trademark," Tamberi said after the Anniversary Games at London's Olympic Stadium.
"I like to be on stage and to entertain the audience."
The 23-year-old's maverick facial hair was on show at the Anniversary Games as he finished second in the men's high jump.
Tamberi recorded a height of 2.28m and was beaten only by compatriot Marco Fassinotti, who cleared 2.31 without half a beard on his face.
Well, at least we now have some kind of idea as to why Tamberi is persevering with the facial haircut.
Fortunately for Tamberi, this time he only made headlines for his beard and not for an embarrassing slip-up like this one...
To be honest, we quite like it, although it's hardly a surprise that the fashion statement has not been copied by anyone else on the circuit.
If being a showman, enjoying the stage and entertaining the audience are the criteria, surely Usain Bolt will have something creative up his sleeve - or on his face - for Rio...
