Men
100 m: World Champion Tyson Gay is out of the race because he is not coming to Europe before US Olympic Trials and so will miss the first two meetings. World record holder Asafa Powell has confirmed he will compete in Oslo, but has yet to decide on Berlin. With this two top sprinters possibly out of the jackpot race there is no other major contender who could be expected to win all six races.
400 m: Here we find a real jackpot contender. Jeremy Wariner is going to run the whole series and the first two races in Berlin and Oslo should be reasonably straightforward with some of his main challengers (for example LaShawn Merritt) staying home for the US meetings.
1500 m: World Champion Bernard Lagat is staying in the US before the trials and other top names will be more concerned about their Olympic preparations. European champion Mehdi Baala for one, will only start his season at the European Cup later in June. Last year this event had five different winners in six races and it could be the same this year.
400 m Hurdles: World Champion Kerron Clement will likely skip Europe before the US Trials. The other two Osaka medallists Felix Sanchez and Marek Plawgo will race though, along with 2005 World title holder Bershawn Jackson. It will be tough, but not impossible to have a jackpot candidate in this event.
Long Jump: World champion Irving Saladino of Panama could be a real possibility if he remains injury-free. Last year he didn't lose a single event.
Javelin Throw: Tero Pitkamäki and Andreas Thorkildsen, the top two in Osaka, could battle for the jackpot again like they did last year. Pitkamaki won four events, while Olympic champion Thorkildsen claimed two meetings.
Women
200 m: With overseas sprinters staying in the US (Veronica Campbell Brown and Allyson Felix) in June, it doesn't look like we have any real jackpot candidates here.
800 m: World champion Janeth Jepkosgei of Kenya will run the series and is a real possibility. Her chances are increased because world indoor leader Yelena Soboleva of Russia is not planning any big meetings before the Russian Championships in mid-July.
100 m Hurdles: Sweden´s world indoor record holder Susanna Kallur (who is also connected to series' sponsor) will run the series and has a decent chance. World champion Michelle Perry might not come over for Berlin and Oslo which would increase European champion's chances.
High Jump: World champion Blanka Vlasic has the longest winning-streak of all active athletes at the moment and that means she is also a real candidate for the jackpot. Her participation at the whole series has not been confirmed yet, but she is expected to have a go. Her chances are even higher because Olympic winner Yelena Slesarenko has announced that she will only start competing in July. European champion Tia Hellebaut is also in the mix after giving up her plans to compete in Heptathlon.
