Kenyans dominate Istanbul marathon

African athletes sealed a clean sweep at the Istanbul Marathon, with Kenyan runners dominating the men’s event in Turkey.
Stephan Chebogut won the men’s race in a time of two hours, 11 minutes and five seconds, with compatriots Kiprotich Yegon and Evans Kiplagat five-and-a-half and six-and-a half-minutes behind respectively.
Ethiopia’s Koren Jelela Yal won women's race in 2:28:06 to take the $50,000 first prize.
Compatriot Amane Gobena was second with Turkey’s Sultan Haydar third.
It was the 34th edition of the Eurasian marathon.
