Sprinter Richard Kilty is adamant he will deliver on his promise this summer as he aims to make coach Linford Christie proud.
Kilty has been underlining his prowess as one of the best 60m runners on the globe over the last two season, adding the European Indoor title to last year's world crown earlier this month.
But when it comes to transferring his skills outdoors and to the 100m track, Kilty has struggled somewhat – failing to reach the final of last summer's Commonwealth Games.
However, with former Olympic champion Christie in his corner, the Teeside Tornado believes success is right around the corner as he turns his attentions to this summer's World Championships in Beijing.
"It's [this year's European Indoor title] given me the confidence that I can perform when it matters," Kilty told Press Association Sport.
"I've won the two indoors (world and European titles) and if I can take that form, who knows?
"It's going to be difficult. You've got the likes of Usain Bolt, the Jamaicans and Americans.
"I've proven that I can perform when it matters. Anything's possible and Linford will definitely instil the confidence in me that I can go out and do what he did."
