Former Olympic champion Carolina Kluft ruled out a return to the hepthathlon at next year's London Olympics following her switch to the long and triple jumps.
Kluft, 31, was asked at a news conference before the European team championships at the weekend if she would consider a return to the event in which she won three world and two European Championships as well as her Olympic gold.
"No, I will concentrate on the long jump for sure. I don't have the energy or the motivation for the heptathlon, I can't find any reason to go back. I ended my career in the heptathlon with a smile on my face and I'm happy with what I have achieved," she said.
Kluft announced recently that the London Olympics in 2012 would be her last as she intended to retire at the end of next season. She has ruled out a move into coaching, saying she would aim for something "completely different".
"I'm looking forward to doing one more year, I'm really going to try to do my best and then I'm going to leave the track, hopefully, also with a smile on my face," she said.
"I think I'm going to do something completely different, I'm not going to be a coach, and I don't' think I'm going to be a TV commentator. I think I'm just going to be a happy supporter and go and watch competitions and support my friends, have a good time and not be involved."
Asked about her post-retirement plans, Kluft said she had not made any concrete decisions yet.
"I've thought about it but I haven't made any plans yet because I'm so focused on the track. Of course, I have thoughts about what I want to do - I think I'm going to study, I'm just going to take the year and think about what I want to do. I'm going to relax and not push myself into new, big things."
