Tyson Gay of the USA made history by winning double sprint gold with a 19.76 seconds run in the 200m at the World Championships in Osaka.
Gay showed no sign of tiredness from the 100m he won earlier in the week as he cruised past Jamaica's Usain Bolt, who had powered into the lead at the bend.
The American replicated the feats of disgraced compatriot Justin Gatlin two years ago and that of former great Maurice Greene in 1999.
Wallace Spearmon (also USA) took bronze in 20.05 seconds, although he was disappointed afterwards despite a good effort following a poor start.
Gay's time of 19.76 was a championship record, with Bolt running 19.91. Rodney Martin of the USA came fourth in a personal best of 20.06.
