Reds 3, Cardinals 2
Jay Bruce and Marlon Byrd both doubled in runs during a three-run first inning while right-hander Anthony DeSclafani recorded a career-high nine strikeouts to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
DeSclafani (7-7) allowed two runs and seven hits with no walks, while Aroldis Chapman recorded his 23rd save for Cincinnati.
Third baseman Matt Carpenter hit a two-run home run for St. Louis.

Blue Jays 3, Twins 1
Third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki homered while right-hander Marco Estrada pitched into the seventh inning as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-1.
Estrada (9-6) allowed two hits, two walks and one run while striking out five in 6-2/3 innings.
Twins right-hander Phil Hughes (10-6) allowed five hits, including two home runs, two walks and three runs with three strikeouts in 5-2/3 innings to take the loss that snapped a string of six successive winning decisions.

Royals 5, Tigers 1
Salvador Perez had three hits, including a two-run homer, and three RBIs to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 5-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers.
First baseman Eric Hosmer had two hits and scored twice while left fielder Ben Zobrist and right fielder Alex Rios drove in the other runs for the Royals.

Mets 5, Marlins 1
Pinch hitter Eric Campbell sparked a four-run eighth inning to lead the New York Mets to their fifth consecutive win, a 5-1 victory over the Miami Marlins.
Juan Lagares then followed with a two-run triple before Curtis Granderson capped the rally with a run-scoring double.

Cubs 5, Pirates 0
Jake Arrieta pitched seven innings of a four-hitter while Anthony Rizzo tied a career high with four hits as the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-0 for their sixth straight win.
Arrieta (12-6) allowed just two singles while striking out five and walking three.

Giants 8, Braves 3
Hunter Pence smashed a homer with two runners on to cap a four-run eighth inning while third baseman Matt Duffy had a four-hit game as the Giants produced an 8-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Shelby Miller was in line for his first victory since May 17 before the Braves relievers imploded.

Yankees 13, Red Sox 3
Catcher Brian McCann drove in four runs as the New York Yankees pulled away in the late innings for a 13-3 rout of the Boston Red Sox.
The Yankees scored 12 runs after the fifth inning, including nine runs in the seventh.

Phillies 6, Dodgers 2
Rookie third baseman Maikel Franco hit a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Franco's slam, off reliever Joel Peralta, was the first of his career, and the second by a Phillies player this season. It was also the first by a Phillies rookie since Ryan Howard hit one against Atlanta on Sept. 21, 2005.

Nationals 5, Diamondbacks 4
Wilson Ramos had a two-run bloop single to right field to break a tie with one out in the eighth inning as the Washington Nationals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks.
His hit against reliever David Hernandez (0-2) drove in first baseman Ryan Zimmerman and left fielder Jayson Werth, whose double had sent Zimmerman to third.
Washington (55-50) snapped a four-game losing streak while Arizona (51-54) lost for just the fourth time in 12 games.

Rays 11, White Sox 3
The marquee pitching matchup between Chris Sale and Chris Archer turned out to be one-sided in favor of Archer and the Tampa Bay Rays, who beat the Chicago White Sox 11-3.
Archer struck out seven and yielded just one run on a solo homer by Chicago third baseman Tyler Saladino in the third for the win, but Sale was roughed up for seven runs in just 5-1/3 innings.
