March 25 (The Sports Xchange) - Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose said he feels pain-free in his surgically repaired knee and remains optimistic for a return before the regular season ends.

Rose had a meniscectomy on his right knee Feb. 27. He has been working out without taking contact but is hopeful he can start taking contact in practice this week or next week.
"That would be the plan, but who knows?" Rose said before Wednesday morning's shootaround as the Bulls prepared for a game against the Raptors in Toronto. "Whenever I'm ready to come back, that's when I'm going to come back."

The Houston Rockets hope starting point guard Patrick Beverley can avoid season-ending wrist surgery and are seeking medical advice on their options.
Beverley suffered torn ligaments in the wrist Monday night in a victory over the Indiana Pacers. He saw a doctor in Houston on Wednesday and will get a second opinion before deciding on a course of action, coach Kevin McHale said during a shootaround in New Orleans before a game against the Pelicans.

The NBA announced that NBA Global Games China 2015 will feature two preseason games between the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers in October.
The Clippers and Hornets will play the NBA's first game in Shenzhen when they meet on Oct. 11 at the Shenzhen Universiade Center, followed by a rematch in Shanghai on Oct. 14 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The Atlanta Hawks signed forward Austin Daye to a second 10-day contract.
Daye has appeared in two games with the Hawks. He also played in 26 games (four starts) earlier this season with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.3 minutes.

The Detroit Pistons assigned forward Quincy Miller to the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA Development League.
In two games with Grand Rapids this season, Miller has averaged 11.5 points, nine rebounds, two assists and 19.7 minutes per game.
