Wilson was part of the two-woman bobsleigh team that finished 12th in Russia in 2014, but quit the sport after her return.
In an interview with BBC Sport last week, the 26-year-old revealed she spent the following 18 months receiving treatment at a specialist mental health hospital, having self-harmed as she struggled to copy with the demands of her sport.
Now though, she has turned her attentions to rugby, and last week starred for her Northern Lights team in their Secure Trading 24/Sevens triumph at The Rec – the home of Bath Rugby.
Wilson, who plays as a winger, took home the player of the tournament award, following a phenomenal solo try in the final.
"I transferred from bobsleigh which was based in Bath and I always used to drive past The Rec and not know what was going on," she said. "But I wanted to give it a go so I came down and I started playing and I love it.
"I used to be a sprinter but it's now about getting the fitness as well. I loved my time at the Olympics, it was a surreal experience but on the whole it was amazing.
"I always said I wanted to go to an Olympic Games when I was younger, so to have done that was amazing.
"But after that things changed and I wanted to find the love I had for sport again and I landed on rugby.
"Since then I've just really enjoyed my time in the game and want to continue growing."
