Johnreil Casimero outpointed Luis Alberto Rios to retain his IBF light-flyweight title in Panama.
Casimero took the win on scorecards of 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110 in a fairly insipid encounter which saw the champion do just enough to retain his belt for the second straight fight on his travels.
There was little to separate the two competitors, but the champion did enough at the start and conclusion to win the favour of the ringside judges.
On the undercard, a second bout between Roberto Vasquez and Mark John Apolinario to decide a WBA interim bantamweight title-holder once again went to a draw.
The two battled to a majority draw in Colon, Argentina last November and again triggered a neutral decision from the judges in Vasquez’s native land, making it a frustrating night overall for the local spectators.
