Gimbatov won silver in the super heavyweight division on Friday but was unable to attend the medal ceremony after he was struck by a series of heavy blows in the second round against Joyce.
"His health condition is good and he has been released from hospital," Konstantyn Vybornov, the Russian federation press secretary, told reporters.
"He has been through all the procedures for checking his head. He feels well and is back in the Athletes Village. He is going to participate in the honouring ceremony in the Russia House this evening."
