According to reports in the Daily Mail, Tyson Fury's father John could be given day release from prison in order to watch his son take on David Haye in Manchester on September 28.
John Fury is reportedly waiting to be given official permission. He is currently serving an 11-year sentence for gouging out the eye of a man during a fight at a car auction.
"It will be great to have me dad back with me," the Daily Mail quotes Fury as saying. "I speak to him almost every day on the phone. I visit him regularly."
The 49-year-old is eligible for early release in 2015 after serving four years.
If granted permission to attend the fight, he will have to return to prison just after midnight, according to reports.
He gouged out the eye of Oathie Sykes in a carpark following a car auction. The two men had been in a long-running dispute.
