Joyce has been in fine form this season but couldn't find a way past Babanin Maksim – denting his hopes of sealing early qualification for Rio 2016.
The evening started brightly for the Lionhearts with Kelvin de la Nieve outboxing Vasilii Vetkin to give the Brits the lead.
But that was as good as it got as Adlan Abdurashidov levelled the scores with a unanimous decision victory over Oualid Belaoura in the lightweight division. The event also saw the WSB debut of Scott Fitzgerald as the welterweight came up against Radzhab Butaev.
An exciting bout saw the Russian edge out Fitzgerald on a split decision before Pavel Silyagin got the better of Joshua Buatsi.
Next up for the Lionhearts is the final home match of the season against Cuba Domodores.
