Birmingham super fly Kal Yafai (10-0) will meet Nigerian Yaqub Kareem (13-3-1) in Leeds on 21st May for the vacant Commonwealth super flyweight title, formerly held by Ellesmere Port's Paul Butler.
The match was previously sanctioned by the Commonwealth Boxing Council as a final eliminator, but will now take place for the belt after Butler relinquished the title prior to his IBF World bantamweight fight with Darlington's Stuart Hall on June 7.
Further announcements regarding the Leeds card, which features Josh Warrington against Martin Lindsay for the Commonwealth featherweight championship, are expected soon.
