Manny Pacquiao said he thought he beat Floyd Mayweather after losing a unanimous points decision in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao surprised interviewer Max Kellerman when he said in the ring: "I thought I won the fight."

Althought it is customary for vanquished fighters to insist they were victorious, Kellerman responded incredulously, repeating: "You thought you won the fight? Why?"

Pacquiao took issue with Mayweather's defensive style, saying: "He didn’t do nothing, he was always running ... I got him many times with solid punches ... I can handle his power."

Unfortunately for Pacquiao, the judges disagreed. One scored the bout 118-110 in Mayweather's favour, while the other two had it 116-112.

Kellerman criticism

Kellerman came in for strong criticism from Pacquiao fans for the interview, and later responded by saying: "I love Manny."
