Light-welterweight Maxwell is unbeaten in this season's World Series of Boxing after impressive victories over Touliaowutayi Sarike of the China Dragons and Morocco Atlas Lions' Hamza El Barbari.
But he will face a tough challenge in the form of the Russian Boxing team when the two sides enter the ring in Moscow on Thursday night.
Maxwell is joined in a relatively inexperienced team by fellow GB Boxing squad members Ashley Williams (light-flyweight) and Dan Woledge (middleweight).
Holland's bantamweight boxer Enrico La Cruz and French heavyweight fighter Abdoulaye Diane have also been included as the two overseas selections for their first appearance of the season.
And Maxwell himself knows he can not afford to let his level drop if he wants to make it three wins from three.
"It's been a good start to the season for me, but Russia away is a very tough assignment," he said.
"It will not be easy but I just need to go there, keep doing the things that have brought me success and stick to my gameplan."
