Limond's defeat of Mitch Prince in the first defence of his Commonwealth title last Friday at the Bellahouston Sports Centre, Glasgow, has pushed the Glaswegian up to No.6 in the European rankings.
Gilmour will attempt to entice Di Rocco to Glasgow in the autumn, but the Italian, who was reportedly given a hometown decison on Saturday against Carshalton's Lenny Daws, doesn't leave home that often.
Gilmour told the Glasgow Evening Tmes: "With Di Rocco just having won the title at the weekend his first defence will be a voluntary one. I have always found the Italians good to do business with, providing the terms are right and we will do what we can to try and get Di Rocco to Glasgow.
"A venue like the Kelvin Hall would be ideal and it would be a cracking fight for Willie and one he has a real chance to win.
"After sustaining two burst ear drums and a broken hand against Mitch Prince, the most important thing for Willie right now is rest."
