Caballero retains crown

Panamanian Celestino Caballero made a successful defence of his WBA super-bantamweight title at the Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida, stopping Mexican Ricardo Castillo in the ninth round.

Caballero, 26-2 (19), produced a solid professional performance by gradually chipping away and wearing down his brave challenger over eight rounds before landing a perfect right hand to Castillo"s head.
Castillo then spat out his mouthpiece and took a step back, prompting his brother and former lightweight champ Jose Luis, to instruct the referee to wave the fight off after 2.02 of the ninth round.
