Friday Night US Round-up:S

Former IBF lightweight king Paul Spadafora fought off a very game effort from Irishman Oisin Fagan to clinch a split decision win over 10 rounds at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on Friday night.

One judge appeared wide of the mark at 98-91 while the second saw the fight 97-93, both for Spadafora.The third judge made Fagan a slight winner by a score of 96-95. Spadafora improves to 40-0-1-(16), while Fagan falls to 17-4-(10).

At the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Welterweight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr improved to 30-0-1-(23), with a third round tko win over Raul Munoz. Chavez floored Munoz with an uppercut just before the bell to end round two then finished the job after 1.29 of round three

On the same card Super-bantamweight Fernando Beltran Jr scored a 10 round points win over Baudel Cardenas. The scores were 97-93, 99-91 and 96-94.
