This was Brookes' second victroy in the 2017 MCE British Superbike championship.
There was a degree of drama when the race was brought to a close by the introduction of a safety car, and then a red flag.
Brookes took the lead on lap six, and on the start of lap 10 the safety car came out following a crash between Andrew Reid of Tyco MBW and Ridersmotorcycles BMW's Martin Jessopp.
Problems were compounded when Anvil Hire Yamaha's Shaun Winfield's bike had an engine failure, and oil then flowed from the engine onto the Hangar strait, resulting in a red flag.
Classification was taken from the most recent competed racing lap, which was lap eight, as Leon Haslam and Peter Hickman made up the rest of the podium.
