Jake Dixon in mix after claiming first front row berth
Jake Dixon recovered from crashing to earn his first front row start in British Superbikes by clocking 48.398 seconds to finish second on his Kawasaki.
Dixon, 21, came off his bike with two minutes left of qualifying, but recovered without any serious injury a day after suffering a worse crash in free practice.
“In a way I am happy, but in a way I am a bit disappointed. We were on a good lap on that last lap and I really didn’t think I went into the hairpin that hot, and I thought I was two tenths up on the dash, but unfortunately went down,” said Dixon.
“I want to say a big thanks to the team. Yesterday I went down on track and it absolutely wrote the bike off, and I only managed to go out for the last ten minutes of FP2 so the boys did an amazing job and big thanks to them.”
