Ajinkya Rahane hit a patient 73 before England skittled out India for 200 in their crucial one-day tri-series match at Perth on Friday.
Rahane added 83 runs with opening partner Shikhar Dhawan (38) in 20 overs before the wheels fell off the Indian innings in what is virtually a semi-final contest with the winners taking on Australia in Sunday's final.
Put into bat, the Indian openers found themselves stifled by England's disciplined pace bowlers.
Chris Woakes sent back Dhawan to get the breakthrough but it was Moeen Ali's double strike -- dismissing Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina -- that broke the back of the Indian batting order.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (17) was hit flush on the helmet by a short James Anderson delivery and the Indian captain fell to the same bowler five balls later, trapped lbw to a delivery that stayed lower than he had anticipated.
Even the 200-mark did not look a possibility until number 11 batsman Mohammad Shami smacked 25 runs off 18 balls as India were dismissed in the 49th over.
