New deals for Overtons and Gregory

Somerset have tied up young England internationals Craig and Jamie Overton, and Lewis Gregory, on new three-year contracts.

On Sunday the club announced the 21-year-old Overton twins and Gregory, 23, who have all been called into England's one-day squad this year, have put pen to paper on new deals which will extend their stays until 2018.

Director of cricket Matthew Maynard told the club's official website: "Lewis, Craig and Jamie are outstanding cricketers with the potential to become even better.

"They have all performed extremely well this year and have rightly received international recognition.

"We are very pleased to have secured their services because they will be an absolutely vital part of this club for the years to come. They are great lads who offer a lot both on and off the field."

Jamie Overton, who has been invited to train with the England Test squad in the run-up to Wednesday's Ashes opener, said: "I'm meeting up with the squad tomorrow to bowl a few balls at them ahead of the first Test, which I'm really looking forward to.

"I'll then stay with them for the first day before heading back home. It's pretty exciting and you can only learn from being in that situation, so hopefully it will stand me in good stead for the future.

"I want to be able to do as much as I can for Somerset, so to sign up until 2018 is great. Twins always seem to do the same sort of things, so for Craig to be signing as well is nice.

"We're here together for the next few years, so hopefully we can put in some good performances together."
