Marit Bjoergen continued to rein supreme at the cross country World Cup event in Davos, extending her lead at the top of the overall standings with a fine victory in the women's 1.3km sprint.

The Norwegian, who had won her sixth consecutive 10km freestyle race the day before, crossed the line in a time of 2:35.86 minutes ahead of Sweden's Stina Nilsson and compatriot Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg.
The win was Bjoergen's 84th career World Cup win and leaves her top of the World Cup sprint standings on 300 points ahead of fellow Norwegians Oestberg and Maiken Caspersen Falla.
And her lead in the overall standings is a handsome one. Bjoergen has 849 points with second placed Therese Johaug, also of Norway, sitting on 528 and Oestberg on 476.
