Revenge was sweet for Norway's Emil Iversen after he stormed back from Saturday's sprint disappointment to take victory in the 30km mass start classic in Falun.
Iversen missed out on the sprint win by just 0.06 seconds but was not to be denied a second time after getting the better of team-mate Martin Johnsrud Sundby.
He crossed the line first in a winning time of 1:15:46.7, 3.7 seconds ahead of World Cup leader Sundby.
"It's a great win today. I have been training well for 14 days and thought I could race both events well this weekend," he said.
"If I had to choose between yesterday and today I am really happy to win today."
There was also excitement for the home crowd with Calle Halfvarsson finished third, 5.6 seconds off the lead – the Swede breaking up the possibility of a Norwegian clean sweep of the podium after edging out Sjur Roethe by a tenth of a second.
Sundby now leads the overall World Cup standings by 344 spoints from Russia's Sergey Ustiugov while he increased his lead in the sprint distance standings to 286 from Finland's Matti Heikkinen.
Sundby said: "It was a good effort today. I was able to get a lot a bonus points during the race and second place also helps. Happy to see Emil get his win today after yesterday's photo finish."
