The hosts started well with skip Pat Simmons opening the scoring in the first end and doubling their advantage in the second.
Finland skip Aku Kauste then got his side on the board in the third but Simmons hit back in the fourth to give Canada a 5-1 lead.
Kauste found a way to pull one back but Simmons was ruthless and another draw in the sixth gave his team two points.
The Finns did score two in the eighth but it was too little too late and one score in the ninth sealed the medal for Canada – leaving Kauste to rue his side's performance.
"That was not our best game. I think we still played pretty well be we were just on the wrong side nearly every end. What can you do? Canada played really well – the better team won today," he said.
"I have to think about how far we've come this year. I think we have done much better than anyone was ever expecting."
