Scotland aim to finish on a high

Scotland faced off against skip Kevin Koe and his Canadian team for their penultimate round-robin game, knowing full well that advancement to the knockout stages was long behind them.

However that didn't mean that the Scots were done fighting and headed into the break tied at 2-2, only for Koe to nudge Canada ahead by two points in the sixth end.

But MacDonald levelled the scores with two in the very next end only for Canada to once again put breathing space between them and Scotland with two points of their own in the eighth.

This time the Scots could not fight back immediately and while MacDonald halved the deficit in the ninth end, Koe added another in the tenth to claim a 7-5 win.

Scotland conclude their championship against Germany and MacDonald is adamant they haven't thrown in the towel just yet.

"Giving up two in the eighth put us in a bit of trouble and that made a big difference," he said. "He [Koe] made a good draw for his two, so two up with two to go - it was always going to be tough.

"We played a good solid game there, didn't do too much wrong at all. You've got to play well to beat these guys, that's the size of it.

"One more against Germany, we'll try our best to win that one and leave this tournament with a win, and try to feel a bit better about it."
