A stunning final stone from Anna Kubeskova moved the Czech Republic to 7-6 going into the ninth end.
But a well fought tenth end culminated in a work of genius from Diana Gaspari who snatched victory from the hosts with a flawless last stone, knocking her opponents into fourth in the table.
Italy qualify alongside China, who seemed to have recovered from their loss against the Italians to comfortably win against Denmark.
The final hammer in the coffin came in the eighth end when Denmark's Madeleine Dupont missed with her final stone, allowing Wang Bingu's rink to take four points and finish the match 9-3 ahead.
Germany narrowly defeated Finland who are yet to win a match, but forced the Germans to a tenth end which went the way of Daniela Jentsch and her rink, winning 6-4.
Denmark are still vying for the third playoff place whilst the Czech Republic sit in fourth having played all six matches.
The next women's fixtures are on Saturday morning and will see bottom of the table Finland take on Denmark while Germany look to gain a play-off spot against China.
Already qualified Italy will play Latvia who are on equal points with Germany and still have an outside chance of qualifying.
