Scotland overcame previously unbeaten Canada to secure their place in the semi-finals of the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Sweden.
The two teams were even at 5-5 after a tense battle but a takeout for the Scots in the eighth end proved to be the winning point as Gina Aitken's team came through 6-5.
They will next play China for a place in the final after the Chinese beat Estonia 8-5.
Aitken said: “I think that was a big turning point [Bruce's raised double takeout in eighth end] because they were lying quite well, but that turned the game around and gave us the advantage in the end.
"[For the semi-final] We just need to build on what we have done and keep the momentum going because we are playing well and making our shots."
In the other semi-final, USA will play Russia after they beat England 12-6. The Americans has raced into an early lead but while the English came back with four in the fourth end, team USA responded with three points before going on to take the win.
Russia meanwhile overcame Finland 8-7 after a dramatic final end where the Finnish stone rolled too far to hand the Russians the win.
