Team Muirhead carried a 3-2 record into Tuesday, in joint fourth, and remained in fourth after the morning's session, in which the Scots did not feature.
The Koreans raced into a 4-1 lead after three ends of the afternoon session, taking two in each of the first and third ends, giving them a lead that Eunjung Kim never looked likely to give up.
The rinks exchanged two stones apiece in the next two ends, but it was the consistency of the Koreans – scoring two in five of the ten ends – that led them to victory.
Canada still top the standings, with a perfect six wins from six matches, having defeated Kim and her Korean rink 9-8 in their earlier encounter. Rachel Homan's team struck the decisive blow in the seventh end, scoring four to move 8-5 ahead and continue their strong start to the championships.
Elsewhere in the morning session Russia beat Germany 8-4, with an end to spare, while the Czech Republic beat Sweden 10-4 and the USA produced a fine comeback win to beat Denmark 7-6.

American skip Nina Roth scored three in the final end and she said there were no thoughts of playing safe.
"The last shot, it really helped out that all of my team mates knew that we were going to make it," said Roth.
"There was no second-guessing about just securing the deuce [two points] and going for it in the extra [end].
"Everyone had full faith that we were going to make it together as a team. It was a perfect team shot because we knew where to put the broom [and] knew what to throw."
The afternoon's remaining results saw the Czechs make it two wins for the day by beating Switzerland 10-7, while Denmark lost their second match of the day in a 7-5 loss to China and Russia hammered Italy 11-1, with the contest ending after just six ends.
Ahead of the day's final session Canada (6-0) lead the standings, with Sweden (5-1) second, Switzerland (4-2) third and the Czechs (4-3) joint fourth with Russia.
Scotland (3-3) and the USA are level in sixth, with Korea, China, Germany, Italy and Denmark occupying places eight to 12. Sportsbeat 2017
