Scotland's men are still on the hunt for their first victory of the World Curling Championships after falling to defeats to Norway and the Czech Republic.
Ewan MacDonald's team started Monday's session with their fourth loss of the Championships by going down 11-6 to the Norwegians.
The Scots stole ahead in the first end but their opponents broke away in the second for a 6-1 lead.
From then they were always playing catch up and couldn't make up the distance.
They returned to the ice to square off with the Czechs and started the stronger of the two teams as they took a 4-1 lead at the end of the third.
With the scores 5-5 after the sixth end the match ebbed and flowed until the killer blow was struck in the eighth when an attempted tap-up by MacDonald went wrong and the Czechs took a 7-5 lead.
The Scots must now look to matches against the USA and Russia as they go in search of their first victory.
Elsewhere hosts Canada consolidated their lead at the top with a 9-3 win over Russia while the Swiss rink took victory to share second with Norway.
