Trailing early on, the Scots came from 3-2 down after four ends to record the win, but only led 4-3 after nine ends.
It all came down to the final end, and the Scots held their nerve to score four and seal the win, their second to date.
“We’re feeling a bit better than yesterday,” said skipper Kyle Smith.
“We took our time to get into the game and made a few mistakes, but we made up for them with a few good shots which we haven’t done in previous games.
“So we managed to bail ourselves out there and played a really good last few ends and didn’t give them any chances.
“It’s always awkward when you’re one up without. You’ve just got to get the set-up and see how it goes from there.
“We were in quite a good position and we kept getting freezes in the right spot. Hopefully we can come out like that tomorrow again.”
Norway made it six wins from six as they downed Germany and stretched their lead at the top of the table after Sweden were beaten 3-2 by Switzerland.
Russia were far too good for the Czech Republic in their 8-3 victory while Italy cruised past the Netherlands 9-3.
