The Scot has made the switch from Team WNT Pro Cycling, joining forces with fellow Rio gold medallist Elinor Barker as her aim of becoming both a road and track specialist intensifies.
Archibald became a world champion for the second time earlier this year, donning the rainbow jersey after steaming to omnium glory in Hong Kong in April.
But while the 23-year-old already has road pedigree as National Circuit Race champion, she remains confident that this switch in teams is the next step towards dominating in both disciplines.
"I've joined Wiggle High5 to take the next step in my professional career," Archibald said.
"2017 was my first season of racing a UCI calendar on the road and in 2018 I'll now be able to race as part of the Women's WorldTour. With my previous team, I was often race leader though our racing ambitions were small.
"With this move I expect to be playing a support role to bigger goals as part of one of the highest ranked UCI teams. One day I hope to again be a race leader myself and plan to learn as much as possible from the hugely successful roster Wiggle High5 boasts in 2018."
As well as her circuit success, Archibald has also taken more medals on the road, notably silver and bronze in the National Road Race and Time Trial Championships respectively.
But it's on the track where her crowning moments have come, Olympic team pursuit champion and already an eight-time European title holder – despite being just 23.
Those acclaims have not gone unnoticed by Wiggle High5 founder, owner and manager, Rochelle Gilmore, delighted to have a new star onboard with a busy 2018 on the horizon.
"I've been following Katie's career for the past four or five years and she has always been an athlete I've desired to work with," she said.
"As her strength on the road has been developing year by year, her increasing desire to achieve road racing goals has been something Wiggle High5 really wanted to be a part of.
"My interest to bring Katie into the Wiggle High5 family was to introduce a new fresh and motivated personality and mentality into the team – one of a true champion.
"While already an Olympic champion on the track, Katie is still an unknown talent on the road, we've seen glimpses of what she's capable of and we look forward to providing her with the ‘opportunity' to recognise her full potential on the road… in the future, when and if her heart desires."
